Chapter 20
Sage Sage! We heard the story of Surya. Why did Samjnadevi, wife of Surya, come to Amravanam and worship? When the rishis ask, ‘It should be explained’, Sudar tells the story of Samjnadevi.
Surya was born to Kachyapa Maharishi, the son of Dil Marisi Maharishi by Aditi, daughter of Dakshaprajapati. Samjna, the daughter of Dvashta, was his wife. Three children were born to Surya from Samjna Devi. The eldest of them is said to be Vaivasvata Manu, who was the leader of Suryavamsa kings and who wrote the Dharma Shastra called Manu Smriti to keep the people of the world in order. Ilayavan did not miss every animal even for half a minute and its life was calculated according to its abode
Yamadharman, the late king who brings. The third child is the river Yamuna. These three were born to the Sun from Samjna Devi.
Unable to bear the Tejas of the Sun, Samjna Devi created her shadow as a woman with a similar form. The woman bowed down to Samjna Devi and said ‘Ammani! ‘What should I do now as a servant to them,’ he said, ‘I cannot bear the Tejas of this sun. You stay here I am going to my father’s house. You have to take care of these three children like your children. Saying that this award should not be told to the husband, he came near the father and bowed and said, ‘O father! I came here because I could not bear the Tejas of my husband. I want to live in your house’ she said.
Hearing that, Duvashta said, ‘Hey daughter! It is not advisable for you to live in your father’s house after you are married. Because women in the world are married to their fathers; After marriage, it should be with the husband and the children should be in possession of the property. Women do not always have independence. Your husband Ella The deceased is the eye that gives light to all people and dispels darkness. Therefore it is not fair to try to endure Tejas after doing penance in Uttamakshetra and leaving the said partha. Women are free only if they are together with their husbands. What is the use of women if they are separated from their husbands if they have many riches?’ He said that.
Immediately, Samnya thought about where to go and do penance to fulfill the Manobishtha. Then Narada came there. Narada said when Samjna Devi worshiped Narada. ‘Hey Samjna Devi! I know what’s on your mind. Ishvara cannot fulfill his will in the world without Radhana. Whose Purusha is called Parab Brahmam, whose illusion? Because all these worlds are spread out, that Lord is Lord. You can worship him. Hey girl! South of Meru Parvatam there is a lingam named Suttaratneswarar in Bharat Varsha. By offering havirbhagam to Maheshwaran and going to the yaga performed by Dakshan, he became guilty of eating unbartha havis and worshiped this vinga at the word of Brahma, he was freed from sin.
Therefore, if you also go there and worship, you will be united with your husband and attain happiness.’ Hearing this, Samjna Devi took the form of a horse and immediately went to Amravana Kshetra to do penance.
Suryan, who knew nothing of this matter, thought of Devi Saya as Samnya. Two sons and a daughter were born to her. The eldest is Savarni, the eighth Manu. The second son is Lord Saneeshvara. The third is a woman called Padrai. One day when all the children were playing together, Yamadharman, the son of Samnya, sat on his father’s lap. Seeing this, Saneeshvara got jealous and said, “O Yama, you are not fit to sit on your father’s lap. Your mother is not here. She has run away somewhere. The father cherishes the children of any woman with whom the father is pleased. Therefore, it is my mother that the father is not very pleased with your mother.” Saying that, Yaman immediately kicked Saiyan’s son Shani with his foot.
Will you become Pretha Rajan immediately because of what I have done to Sai Pillai? She got up and cursed. Since then Yaman has been Predaraja. No matter how many crimes the children commit, the Mother does not curse. If Mata curses then no one can ever remove the curse.
After listening to their conversation, Surya learned with his wise eyes that his wife Samjna Devi was doing penance in Amravana, he also came to that Amravana and saw her in the form of a horse eating dry grass. She also knew it was her husband by the sense of the nose and received his vigor with her two nostrils. / Immediately there were born the Achvinee Devas, who were very beautiful and divine guardians.
Then both of them took Swayarupam and worshiped Amravanesar. Then Tvashta, the father of Samjnadevi, came there and placed the body of the sun in the revolving Yantra.
At last the Tejas of the sun fell down. With that Dvashta created Vishnu’s Chakra, Shiva’s Sula and Skander’s Shakti Weapon. Then the Tejas of the Sun were attributed to Samjna Devi. Both Surya and Samjna were happy and worshiped by the devas, worshiped Brahmananda Purishvara Suttaratnesvara and went to his own world.
