How to Perform Kanakadhara Pooja at Home?

There are ten steps to the home Kanakadhara Pooja, which are as follows:

  • Start getting ready for pooja now: Purchase the following items for puja: Place an image, yantra, or idol of Goddess Lakshmi.
  • In front of the god, completely light the lamp, or dheepam.
  • Send flowers, preferably Lotus or Bilva.
  • Light the agarbathi (incense).
  • Use sandalwood (sandhanam) or turmeric.
  • Get ready contributions of milk, honey, and ghee.
  • Put water in a kalasam.
  • Make an offering of coins.
  • For the aarti (aarathi), light camphor.
  • The Pooja Room Setup is the Second Step. Place the Idol on a Palagai or Stool.
  • Now add Kumkum to the idol and arrange flowers around it.
  • The Lamp should be lit in front of the Diety.
  • Put some flowers on the god while you chant.

The fourth step is Sankalpa, in which you tell the goddess what you want to do and say that you are going to do the pooja for her. After that, give the deity a few Dhanyas that last anywhere from two to five minutes.

Start the Ganesh Pooja after the Sankalpam is over. Chant the Kanakadhara Stotram right after the Pooja is over. There are 22 verses in all in the Sholka.
